Miami Fishing Report Mutton Snapper

Went old school… jig and ballyhoo drift fishing wrecks in 180′ to 90for this weeks Miami Fishing Report Mutton Snapper were our target. We caught three, the first was about an inch short of the new 18″ law. The second was about 7 pounds and the third was just on the line so it was released to fight again. We also caught a few kingfish and had a couple of mystery fish get away. We were fishing with one ounce pilchard jigs rigged with two trailer hooks and 40 pound flouro carbon leader. The main line was 20 pound Sufix and we baited the jig with a small to medium Ballyhoo.
